The history of Shri Shri Radhaballava Jeew has been obtained from religious documentary book “Kanutatawa Nirnoy”, written and published by Shri Biharilal Goswami in the year 1307 Bangabda ,i.e. 1900 A.D.

Shri Shri Radhaballava Jeew is made of Neem wood .On north side of the Bhajanghat village there was an expansive lake and northern side of this lake was a dense forest .At presents a village named Nalupur has been established in this dense forest. In the forest lived one sanyasi /sadhu (saint/ Ascetic) who used to worship the Deity. There was no proof from where the sanyasi obtained the Deity. Perhaps the sanyasi had no disciples, as a result of which before his demise he gave away the wooden Deity in the water of the lake. The Deity was floated from north to south side of the lake and remained in the water. One Goswami named Hari Aule was residing nearby and took the Deity to his hut and started worshipping .But as his financial condition was not sound he could not serve the Deity properly.Shri Shri Radhaballava Jeew gave command on dream to Thakur Kanai’s descendant Nandaram Goswami to take Him to his house and worship in proper manner.

Nandaram was rich and influential man. He first approached Hari Aule and requested him to hand over the Deity. When refused, Nandaram forcibly took the Deity and started worshipping with proper care and devotion.Hari Aule reported the matter to Raja Krishna Chandra Raibahadur and prayed justice.

Raja Krishnachandra summoned both of them to his court, but as Nandaram was aged 80 years he sent his elder son Gorachand who pleased Maharaja by his scholarship and intellect, convinced him that Shri Shri Radhaballava Jeew came to their house compassionately; but at the same time he told Maharaja that if the Deity belonged to Hari Aule he could take away the same. Accordingly Maharaja told Hari Aule to take the Deity from Nandaram’s house. Hari requested Maharaja to provide him with his officer as Nandaram might not allow him.So all of them went to Nandaram’s house and the officer asked Hari Aule to lift the Deity and take away. But with great effort Hari Aule couldn’t lift the Deity whereas Nandaram , being very old and weak lifted comfortably.By seeing this officer told Hari Aule that mercy of Deity was not with him and he could leave the place .So Hari left the place crying in distress.

Hearing this from the officer. Maharaja was amazed and donated 30 Acres of land to Goswami for maintenance and worshipping of Shri Shri Radhaballava Jeew.Since then till today, that is almost 277 years, the descendants of Nandaram Goswami are daily worshipping Shri Shri Radhaballava jeew.

Sanyasi was worshipping only Krishna Deity, Nandaram was hesitating to make dual Idol of Shrimati Radharani and Shri Shri Radhaballava Jeew.Knowing the wish of Nandaram Radhaballava Jeew gave divine command to Nandaram to make dual Deities.Getting divine command from Shri Shri Radhaballava jeew Nandaram arranged to establish dual Deities and since then dual Deities are being worshipped.
